Been a while since I posted. XD

So, Christmas this year I need to make (or purchase) gifts for the following people:

Anthony

Ashley

Rob

Jess

Amanda

Mike

Paige

For Anthony and me, I'm going to be making the Weighted Companion Cube Blanket. Which I've already started on and is going to take for effing ever.

Ashley, I'm going to make her the toe socks she's been wanting.

Rob is getting a plushie Companion Cube. Bought the yarn, but haven't started yet.

Not sure what to make for Jess yet. To be decided.

For Amanda and Mike, I want to make (or buy) an Om Nom Nom kitchen sign. Amanda saw one online and said she HAD to have it. And then forgot about it. Hope it's a good surprise.

And as for Paige? Finish her Driving Gloves, maybe? Hm.

We shall see.

Autumn Outfit

Well, I have decided that if I really want to post something for every project, I need to start grouping them together. I am working on my autumn outfit. Chaotic Yule Secrets

I have many things planned for my D&D groups as Yule gifts, to which no one will be let in.

It's a total secret. Until Yule. I might even throw all of your presents into a bag and make you all scrabble around inside trying to figure out which one is yours. Yes, this year will be a chaotic Christmas.

And I am totally okay with that.

Tiny Projects: My Little Blue Dice Bag

From my brother Allen and my best friend Christina bought me some beautiful blue dice (just like the Caribbean blue, but not frosted) for Yule, and it turns out I had the perfect blue to match. This was my absolute first attempt at a knitted dice bag. No pattern, just improvised. It has a little point on the bottom.

Allen, my brother, wanted a dice bag large enough for one set of dice. I decided to make him a little one. This only took me a few hours, but the stripes jog. He was happy enough with it.

This went to Christina, our resident Dungeon Master. He's a little dirty, but she still has him. I used the pattern Cthulhu by NeedleNoodles with a 0.6mm hook and crochet thread. He's stuffed with polyfill.

Well, I have these really nice knitted socks. When I was a hundred pounds lighter, they were thigh-highs. Now, they won't stay on my thighs without rolling down. Since they're so tall, and I'm so short, I decided to unravel them to right below my knee, pick up stitches around, and then knit a cuff. On one, it's going to say "betch" and on the other, "deck." Idea of that courtesy Red, who also introduced me to the Kelly videos. They’re comedic and on YouTube. Check them out?

Cozy French Press

Well, I use my French Press mostly at my friend Tiffani's house. They have an enclosed porch that is the smoking room. When I'm sitting out there, ten minutes after the hot water is poured into the French press the coffee is cold. I found the Natural Coffee Cozies by Bernat Design Studio pattern and decided wool would be best at keeping it warm. Right now, I'm just worried that after I felt the piece and stick it on the French press, it'll shrink and break the beaker. We will see...

Red's Scarf

Red gave me some fuzzy black and white yarn, so I decided to make her a scarf out of it. I asked her if she wanted vertical or horizontal stripes and she said, "Harry Potter house scarf stripes." I had all summer to do this, and now that it's cold, it's not done!

Good Night's Sleep

I have trouble sleeping at night. Mostly, by the time my eyes are closing for sleep, it's already daylight. I decided I needed something for it, so I started knitting this Chevron Eyeshade by Desi Knitter. The only thing I've decided I don't like about the pattern is the decreases. Next time I make one, I may use that double decrease [sl2tog, k1, p2so] that looks like layered knit stitches over top the slanted stitches.

Crystal Bags for Lil and Angie

After Lil and Angie saw my dice bag, they each wanted one with a neck strap for their crystals. I, personally, think they turned out really well. Angie wanted one in dark colours and Lil wanted one in purple. I did them with my leftover Noro Kureyon Sock yarn, also using Nina Hyland 's Deep Sea Flower Dice Bag pattern. I love how they turned out.

Lily Dice Bag

Made a dice bag using the Deep Sea Flower Dice Bag pattern by Nina Hyland. It calls for Noro Kureyon yarn and US 8 dpns, but I used Noro Kureyon Sock and US 3 dpns and made a bag big enough for one set of dice. My aunt and Angie from my women's group have requested one each; Lil requested a purple one with a strap long enough for a necklace, and Angie wants one in dark colours with a strap long enough for a necklace as well.

The Crystal Continuum - Socks

This was a test knit for YarnYenta. The pattern is actually already up on Ravelry for $5.00. The pattern is called Crystal Continuum by Heatherly Walker. It's been totally fun working on them (though a total pain in the ass when I forget which row I'm on). I'm using Noro Kureyon Sock and US2 dpns.

I'm done! I love them! I only used a little over half of the skein! Yay small feet!!

Had a recent request on etsy from a D&D buddy who wanted a custom dice bag. Her alias is Lady of Chaos. She wanted a dice bag with the chaos symbol her friend Kory had designed. He also wanted one. She wanted black on white, he wanted white on black. Cute, huh? I actually finished Kory's dice bag during a D&D session, hence the dice and Mountain Dew.

First Socks

I used Pedicure Socks (to knit) by Patons as a basis, but didn't follow it to a tee. The first sock took me a while; three days. The second one took me about five hours knitting time (over the course of two days). They're SO comfortable. I wish I knew what brand of yarn I used. All I know is that I got it from Lilly. I used the Paton's Pedicure Socks pattern (free at my LYS), but added a toe. Omigosh, I have a funny story to go with that. Turning heel was surprisingly easy from the horror stories that I've heard.

I finished my first sock at Borders in the cafe. Was hanging out with Lilly and Skyler that day. I wrote a little sign that said, "Yay! :)" and sent it to everyone in my contacts list that could accept picture messages.

I finished the second sock at Sarah's in her basement. I had to put them on. They fit me perfect, which means that the only people that can wear them are me and my eight-year-old brother, Alix.

Lilly said that they made my feet look even smaller (especially compared to my ankles... eep!). I absolutely love knee-high (or higher) socks, though I knew I didn't have enough yarn for two socks that tall. Still a good first set. They're both the same size. I was thrilled.

Talk About Frustrating

Was discussing knitting with Lil the other day when I realized the knitting templates I've spent hours and hours creating are on that computer, and now gone. I'm frustrated beyond belief. Well, I guess I'll just make more templates the easy way.

[EDIT] Not gone! My computer has been fixed by Kory's dad. Apparently I cracked a converter on the inverter board. Yay, templates, here I come! [/EDIT]
